Campfire Greek Lamb Burgers with Feta, Cucumber-Yogurt Sauce and Skillet Red Onions
Mix ground lamb with garlic, oregano, cumin and feta, shape four patties, and grill them over medium coals for 4 to 5 minutes per side until they hit 160°F inside. Cook sliced red onions in a skillet beside them, toast the buns in butter, and stack everything with a cool cucumber-yogurt sauce. Plan on about 45 minutes total.
Lamb makes a rich, savory burger that holds up to a real campfire. Oregano, cumin and garlic go into the patties, and feta melts on top. A quick yogurt sauce with grated cucumber and mint cools it all down.
This is a coals-and-grate burger, not a smash. The patties are thick and juicy, and they pick up a little smoke. Make the sauce first, keep everything cold until you cook, and you'll have dinner in under an hour.
